My Hero Academia Smash Series (Vol 1-5) brings together five volumes of the parody spin-off set in the superpowered world of My Hero Academia. The collection follows Izuku Midoriya, All Might and the aspiring heroes of U.A. High as familiar events are reimagined with irreverent humour, visual gags and exaggerated twists.
Across the set, hero training and school life are treated as a running joke, with scenarios ranging from practical exams and sports festival mishaps to questionable hero names and unusual internships. The series also features memorable villains and escalating chaos, including training camp surprises, dorm life disruptions and increasingly bizarre challenges for the cast.
Izuku Midoriya idolises the number one hero, All Might, but without a Quirk he has little chance of becoming a hero. A chance encounter with All Might changes everything, in an incident involving ballerina outfits. The volume also revisits the first practical exams, revealing what everyone was really thinking.
The My Hero Academia world is reworked into an irreverent comedy, following Midoriya, All Might, U.A. High’s would-be heroes and a cast of villains. Midoriya, once Quirkless and now inheritor of a powerful ability, attends U.A. High for a distinctly unusual education. The story runs through sports festival disasters, questionable hero names and dubious internships, before the villain Stain arrives.
This volume continues the parody approach, with hero education treated as a joke. It begins with summer break antics, then shifts to a training camp in the woods that seems surprisingly normal apart from a small abduction. It also features the cast in Halloween costumes and even as animals.
U.A.’s aspiring heroes move into dorms in an effort to deter villains, yet the League of Villains still manages to attend classes for a day. All Might introduces training that becomes overly personal and life-or-death. The volume also includes a murder mystery involving Mineta and an episode of body swapping.
The final volume pushes the series’ gag-driven approach further, including Bakugo’s “pretty boy” makeover and questions over who gets the last laugh. The cast then teams up to create a finale designed for the amusement of one last villain described as super-weird and terrifying.
