Paper High Sitting Buddha Leather Journal

Designed for everyday writing and creative work, the Paper High Sitting Buddha Leather Journal is crafted by hand using a blend of contemporary and traditional methods. Each journal is hand-bound and made to accompany you on your travels, with a leather cover protected with natural oils to help it soften and age over time. Embossed detailing is created using small handmade tools, ensuring every piece is unique; the pattern around the edge of the cover may vary from the one pictured.

Inside, the pages are made from unlined, handmade khadda paper (also known as kaddi or khaddi). This sustainable paper is crafted by hand from recycled, unbleached cotton salvaged from the Indian garment industry, resulting in an acid-free sheet with a lightly textured, luxuriously thick feel. It’s a pleasure to write, draw, or paint on, and is well suited to ball-point pens, gel pens, and watercolours; it is not recommended for use with fountain pens. Natural creases, bumps and marks are part of the handmade character and will develop with age.

The Buddha image, shown with the right hand turned palm inwards and the left hand out, both with thumb and index fingers forming a circle, traditionally symbolises wisdom and understanding.
