Raimat El Niu de la Cigonya

From Raimat, El Niu de la Cigonya is a young white wine from Costers del Segre, blending Xarello, Chardonnay and Albariño. It reflects the producer’s commitment to sustainable viticulture, with fruit sourced from three different vineyards to build character and balance in the finished wine.

For the Chardonnay component, the grapes come from a parcel located on one of Raimat’s “turons” (slightly elevated landforms). The site is defined by Tertiary-era soils described as very ancient (35 million years), with a chalky, gravelly profile that is loose and well-drained. In the vineyard, the vines are short pruned and undergo light shoot thinning to help achieve the desired balance. All tasks are carried out organically, supporting a natural expression of the grapes and contributing to Chardonnay with a tropical profile and very high intensity.
