Magnus Chase Series 4 Books Collection Set gathers four books from Rick Riordan’s Norse-inspired Magnus Chase world. The series follows Magnus Chase, introduced as an orphan living on the streets of Boston, as he is pulled into a conflict involving the gods of Asgard and the threat of Ragnarok.
Across the collection, Magnus and his friends confront missing legendary weapons, uneasy bargains and journeys through the Nine Worlds. The set also includes a short-story volume that expands the setting with additional adventures, alongside an exclusive fold-out illustration of the world tree.
Magnus Chase introduces himself as an orphan living rough in Boston when he is warned that “they’re after you”. After reuniting with his uncle, he discovers his long-lost father is a Norse god and that the gods of Asgard are preparing for war. With a missing sword at the heart of the danger, a day that begins under a bridge quickly turns into a fight against looming doom.
Thor’s hammer has disappeared again, but this time it is in enemy hands. Magnus Chase and his friends must recover it fast or the mortal worlds will be left defenceless as Ragnarok begins and giants threaten an onslaught. The only route to a deal runs through Loki, and the price he demands is high.
Loki is free and preparing Naglfar, the Ship of the Dead, to sail against the Norse gods and trigger the final battle of Ragnarok. Magnus and his friends race across Midgard, Jotunheim and Niflheim to reach the ship before Midsummer’s Day, facing sea gods, giants and a fire-breathing dragon.
To stop Loki, Magnus must depend on words rather than force and search for a magical elixir that could either empower him or destroy him.
This short-story collection returns to the Nine Worlds with characters from the Magnus Chase world in a fresh set of adventures. Episodes include Amir Fadlan’s dislike of clothes shopping in Midgard, Mallory Keen learning in Niflheim about insulting a dragon, and Alex Fierro’s fire-filled visit to Muspellheim. Thor also appears, jogging through all Nine Worlds to log his million steps.
