Ken Follett Century Trilogy Series Collection 3 Books Set brings together three novels from Ken Follett’s bestselling Century Trilogy. Across the collection, the story follows five families as they move through major political and social upheavals, from the early twentieth century into the Cold War.

Beginning in 1911 on the Coronation Day of King George V, the series traces connections of romance and enmity between a Welsh coal-mining family and aristocratic coal-mine owners, before moving through a Europe in turmoil in 1933 and on to decades shaped by decisions made in the corridors of power. The set is published by Pan Macmillan.

Fall of Giants

The first novel in the Century Trilogy follows five families through the First World War, the Russian Revolution, and the struggle for votes for women. Set in 1911, it opens on the Coronation Day of King George V, as the Williams family, Welsh coal miners, becomes linked by romance and enmity to the Fitzherberts, aristocratic coal-mine owners. Lady Maud Fitzherbert falls in love with Walter von Ulrich, a spy at the German Embassy in London.

Winter of the World

In Berlin in 1933, upheaval spreads as Hitler strengthens his grip on Germany. Eleven-year-old Carla von Ulrich tries to make sense of tensions disrupting her family. Her mother’s friend, Ethel Leckwith, a former British MP, arrives with her student son, Lloyd, who comes to understand the brutal reality of Nazism.

Edge of Eternity

Set during the Cold War, the final novel follows five families from across the globe as the world is brought to the brink of oblivion by decisions made in the corridors of power. Rebecca Hoffmann, a teacher in East Germany, is pursued by the secret police and begins to realise she has been living a lie. Her younger brother, Walli, longs to escape across the Berlin Wall to Britain to join the burgeoning music scene.
