The Trials of Apollo collection brings together five books following Apollo after he is punished by Zeus and forced to live as a human teenager in New York City, under the name Lester. Cast down from Olympus, he is left weak and disorientated, and must find a way to earn back Zeus’ favour.
Across the series, Apollo is tasked with seeking and restoring the ancient oracles, facing a haunted cave in the American Midwest, travelling through the Labyrinth to free an Oracle who speaks in puzzles, and confronting Roman Emperors without the use of his godly powers. The set also includes Camp Jupiter Classified, a hardback companion story set at Camp Jupiter, where mysterious incidents threaten the Twelfth Legion and suspicion falls on Claudia, the Fourth Cohort’s newest probatio.
Apollo angers Zeus and is punished by being made human. Cast down from Olympus, he finds himself in New York City as a teenage boy called Lester, weak and disorientated.
To regain Zeus’ favour, Apollo must seek and restore the ancient oracles. He travels to the American Midwest, where a haunted cave may hold answers, but the dangers include the cave itself and a Roman Emperor with a taste for bloodshed.
Still trapped as Lester, Apollo faces a series of dangerous trials. For his third, he must journey through the Labyrinth to free an Oracle who speaks in puzzles, then defeat one of three Roman Emperors, without his godly powers.
Apollo’s situation worsens as his banishment from Olympus continues. Now human and known as Lester, he faces threats that go beyond the difficulties of being a mortal teenager.
After the battle for Camp Jupiter, New Rome is safe and Tarquin and his undead army have been defeated, with help from the Hunters of Artemis. Apollo and Meg must prepare for a final adventure, even though the wider war is not yet over.
Mysterious incidents disrupt Camp Jupiter and threaten the Twelfth Legion. Suspicion centres on Claudia, a new probatio in the Fourth Cohort and a daughter of Mercury, as she investigates the crime scenes and uncovers an ancient secret linked to the camp’s safety.
