The Best of Wodehouse Collection brings together seven P.G. Wodehouse stories featuring the enduring partnership of Bertie Wooster and his unflappable valet, Jeeves. From the moment Jeeves remedies Bertie’s hangover with a distinctive mixture of Worcestershire sauce and tomato juice, the pair are drawn into a run of entirely self-inflicted scrapes, social obligations and romantic entanglements.
Across the collection, Bertie is repeatedly called upon to carry out awkward tasks for formidable aunts, navigate misunderstandings among friends, and contend with unwelcome figures who complicate matters further. Each time, Jeeves applies calm judgement and carefully laid plans to steer events back from disaster, even when Bertie’s best intentions threaten to make everything worse.
Jeeves and Bertie Wooster become steadfast partners after Jeeves cures Bertie’s raging hangover with his own concoction of Worcestershire sauce and tomato juice. Jeeves then serves as Bertie’s unfaltering aide through a series of entirely self-imposed misadventures, from rescuing plans that have gone wrong to untangling his friends’ love lives.
Aunt Dahlia assigns Bertie the task of stealing an antique cow creamer from Totleigh Towers. Jeeves devises a scheme that requires Bertie to charm Madeline and face the anger of Roderick Spode, even as Bertie dreads what lies ahead and knows Aunt Dahlia will not be denied.
Aunt Agatha is determined to see Bertie married, despite his lack of interest in settling down. Jeeves must help Bertie avoid marrying Honoria Glossop, while also assisting Bingo Little as he falls head-over-heels for seven different girls.
Aunt Dahlia attempts to sell her magazine, Milady's Boudoir, to the Trotter Empire while keeping her chef Anatole out of Lady Trotter’s clutches. Bertie, meanwhile, tries to hold on to his moustache and hopes to reach the end in one piece.
The Brinkley butler is revealed, for reasons of his own, to be Bertie’s nemesis in disguise: the brain surgeon Sir Roderick Glossop. With circumstances turning against him, Bertie heads to Herne Bay to free Jeeves from his shrimping net, and events escalate from there.
Aunt Dahlia asks Bertie to present awards at a school prize-giving ceremony. Bertie attempts to pass the duty to Gussie by promising that the object of his affections will attend, but a chain of misunderstandings leads to chaos and Bertie once again turns to Jeeves to save the day.
Seeking respite, Bertie goes to the country as a guest of his friend Chuffy, only for his peace to be disrupted by the arrival of his ex-fiancée Pauline Stoker, her father, and Sir Roderick Glossop. Before long, a situation arises that only Jeeves can resolve.
