The Flat Stanley Adventures 12 Books Collection brings together a dozen stories featuring the world-famous Flat Stanley, created by Jeff Brown and first published in 1964. Once an average boy, Stanley’s life changes when a notice board falls on him during the night, leaving him completely flat and one inch thick. His new shape means he can slip under doors and even be posted to different countries, taking him on adventures across places including Canada, Africa, China and Australia.

This collection also touches on the origin of the idea, inspired by a question from the author’s sons about what might happen if a notice board fell while they slept. Synopses

Stanley in Space

The President of the U.S. selects Stanley Lambchop and his family to be the first people to fly in a secret new spaceship called the Star Scout. The story includes meeting the Queen of England, facing scary dangers and attending a birthday party in space.

The Japanese Ninja Surprise

Stanley and his brother Arthur are fans of the ninja movie star Oda Nobu and want to visit him in Japan. They pack themselves into the post to arrive at his door, but are met with a troubling surprise.

The Amazing Mexican Secret

When Stanley’s mother needs a particular ingredient to finish her recipe, Stanley travels to Mexico to find it. Along the way, he encounters spies trying to steal the ingredient, and must locate its maker before they do.
