Veuve Olivier Secret de Cave Champagne N.V.

From Veuve Olivier, Secret de Cave Brut Champagne N.V. comes from a family estate created in 1922 by Edmond Olivier and established as a brand in 1955 by his daughter, Liliane. Today, the house spans 21 plots across 18 hectares, with Pinot Meunier as the main grape, supported by Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the blend.

Now managed by Sandrine Charpentier-Olivier, Edmond’s great-granddaughter, Veuve Olivier operates as a “Recoltant-Manipulant”, growing its own grapes and producing its own wines. Each plot is vinified individually to express the flavours of its terroir, with reasoned viticulture practised across the estate.

In the glass, it shows a bright, luminous yellow colour. The nose is rich and complex, with aromas of stone fruit and spicy dried fruit. Lively and creamy on the palate, it offers fine, persistent bubbles and a fleshy, generous profile, finishing long with notes of honey, undergrowth and dried fruit. Serve chilled alongside white fish with creamy sauces, roasted chicken or pan-fried foie gras.
