Yalumba Y Series Shiraz - Viognier 2021

From Yalumba, the Y Series Shiraz Viognier 2021 is a bright, aromatic red blend that brings together perfumed Shiraz and fragrant Viognier in a medium-bodied style with an exotic edge. Luscious aromas of boysenberry, Turkish delight, vanilla bean and violets set the tone, leading into a palate framed by sweet Turkish delight and violet notes. Soft tannins support a succulent finish, highlighting the synergy between the two varieties.

Shiraz grapes are selected for their most perfumed, aromatic profile to complement Viognier’s fragrance. To help preserve these lifted aromas, the wine is made using cool fermentation, with Viognier added during the process, including as many whole berries as possible, and no oak ageing.

At the table, it pairs particularly well with duck and pork terrine, or alongside a red lentil curry with sweet potato, spinach and chick peas.
