Synopses

Scythe (Arc of a Scythe)

In a world without disease, war or crime, death comes only through “gleaning”, carried out by professional Scythes. Teenagers Citra and Rowan are selected as apprentices and must learn the practice of killing, despite wanting no part in the vocation.

Thunderhead (Arc of a Scythe)

While Scythes decide who dies, the Thunderhead oversees everything else. A year after Rowan goes off-grid, the Scythedom hunts him as he becomes an urban legend who targets corrupt Scythes. Citra establishes herself as Scythe Anastasia, gleaning with compassion, as conflict within the Scythedom escalates.

The Toll (Arc of a Scythe)

Set three years after Rowan and Citra disappear, the trilogy’s conclusion finds Scythe Goddard in power and the Thunderhead closed off to everyone except Grayson Tolliver. As events gather pace, constitutions are tested and old friends are brought back from the dead.

Gleanings (Arc of a Scythe)

This companion volume expands the series with stories that range across the timeline, including origin stories and the introduction of new Scythes.
