Treatment & maintenance

Corten steel develops a protective rust layer when first exposed to atmospheric conditions, so painting is not required. The gate is not rusted at the point of delivery and will arrive in a normal metal colour before weathering naturally over time. If preferred, the rusting process can be accelerated by spraying the surface with soap water and salt water.

Care

Avoid contact with the developing rust layer to help prevent staining on clothing.
