Treatment & maintenance

Corten steel is naturally anti-corrosive and develops a protective rust layer when first exposed to atmospheric conditions, so painting is not required. The gate is not rusted on arrival and will initially have a normal metal colour. Rust will develop over time and can be accelerated by spraying the surface with soap water and salt water. Avoid contact with the developing rust layer to help prevent staining on clothing.
