Château de Saint Cosme Gigondas 2020

From Château de Saint Cosme, the Gigondas 2020 is a benchmark red wine from one of the leading estates in the appellation. The property has been in the hands of the Barruol family since 1490, with Louis Barruol taking over in 1992 and making a decisive shift towards quality. In 2010, the estate converted to biodynamics.

In the glass, this vintage shows intense blackberry and fig fruit, followed by notes of liquorice and violets, with charcoal on the finish. Despite the sun and warmth of the southern Rhône, it is described as remarkably fresh and finessed. A unique micro-climate, 60-year-old vines and traditional winemaking underpin the character and style that have helped establish Château de Saint Cosme as a reference point for Gigondas.
