Château de Saint Cosme Saint Cosme Côtes du Rhône

From Saint Cosme in the Rhône Valley, this Côtes du Rhône red is drawn from Syrah vines planted in the limestone and clay-rich soils of Vinsobres and Villafranchiennes du Gard. Fermentation in concrete vats with natural yeasts gives the wine a classic, composed style that reflects both site and method.

In the glass, it shows a deep plum colour with violet reflections. Bright berry fruit and liquorice lead on the nose, followed by a medium-bodied palate with redcurrant and gingerbread. Saint Cosme, located north of Gigondas, is one of the region’s oldest estates, with documented vineyard history dating back to 1416 and family ownership by the Barruol family since 1570.
