From Lebanon’s oldest winery, Château Ksara Réserve du Couvent Rouge reflects a long-established approach to winemaking shaped by the Bekaa Valley. Produced by Château Ksara, founded in 1857, this red wine comes from vineyards set at an average altitude of 1,000 metres, where hot, dry summers are balanced by cool evenings in a semi-continental climate.
The vineyards lie between two snow-capped mountain ranges and draw on a natural water table, with stony soils ranging from chalk to clay and limestone. The blend combines 40% Syrah, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc, and the wine is aged for 6 months in used French barriques. It is a considered choice for those looking to explore Lebanese wine with a classic, structured blend.
