Cramele Recas Cuvee Uberland Red Wine

From Cramele Recas in Banat, Cuvée Überland 2021 is the winery’s flagship red wine, made from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Feteasca Neagra and Negru de Dragasani. This dry red carries 14% ABV and reflects an exceptional vintage for red varieties at the estate.

Deep ruby and almost opaque in the glass, it shows an intense aromatic profile with fruit and woody notes in balance. Blackcurrants, blueberries and ripe figs sit alongside burnt wood, chocolate and sour cherries. The palate is structured and firm, with an elegant body. It can be enjoyed young after decanting and also offers ageing potential of at least 15 years.

Tasting notes

Nose

Intense and balanced, with blackcurrants, blueberries, ripe figs, burnt wood, chocolate and sour cherries.

Palate

Imposing structure with a firm yet elegant body.

Serving suggestion

Serve at 16–18°C. If opened young, aerate in a decanter. Pairs well with lamb chop in pistachio crust, duck breast, pasta with truffles and parmesan, Wagyu beef entrecote, filet mignon with red wine sauce, lamb chops with purée, blue cheeses including Roquefort, Stilton and Gorgonzola, and desserts based on dark chocolate and black fruits.
