Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Premier Cru Vaillons 2022

From Domaine William Fèvre, the Chablis Premier Cru Vaillons 2022 is a Chardonnay from the producer’s own vineyards, rooted in the renowned Chablisienne Kimmeridgian subsoil. This distinctive ground is described as chalky clay, marl, and marl-limestone from the Kimmeridgian era, a geological period dated to 160–140 million years ago.

Founded in 1957 by William Fèvre, the domaine began with around 17 acres of vineyards before expanding to include both Premier Cru and Grand Cru Chablis sites. After William Fèvre’s retirement in 1998, the domaine was sold to Champagne Henriot. Winemaking is now led by Didier Séguier, who previously worked for Burgundy producer Bouchard, also owned by Champagne Henriot.

In the glass, this Premier Cru Vaillons shows a pronounced nose of fruit and flowers, with freshness and mineral touches. The palate is generous, with a rounded feel that carries through the finish.
