Donna Tartt Collection brings together three novels in one set: The Goldfinch, The Secret History and The Little Friend. The collection spans an elite New England college, New York, and a small Mississippi town, following characters whose lives are reshaped by loss, secrecy and the consequences of crossing moral boundaries.

Across the three books, Tartt’s stories move from a close-knit group of students drawn into a profound change after the death of a classmate, to a thirteen-year-old boy left alone and adrift after an accident, and finally to a family marked by a tragedy that is never spoken about. Each novel centres on what happens when the past refuses to stay buried.

Synopses

The Secret History

At an elite New England college, a group of clever, eccentric outsiders fall under the influence of a charismatic classics professor and adopt a way of thinking far removed from their peers. When they move beyond the limits of morality, their lives are altered profoundly. The story unfolds in two parts: the events leading to a classmate’s death, and what follows afterwards.

The Goldfinch

Thirteen-year-old Theo Decker survives an accident that tears his life apart, leaving him alone and rudderless in New York. Taken in by the family of a wealthy friend, he is haunted by longing for his mother and clings to a small, captivating painting that reminds him of her. As he grows up, he moves between the world of the rich and the dusty antiques shop where he works, while the painting draws him into an increasingly dangerous circle.

The Little Friend

One day is never discussed by the Cleve family: the day nine-year-old Robin was found hanging from a tree in their front garden. Twelve years later, the truth remains unknown. Inspired by Houdini and Robert Louis Stevenson, twelve-year-old Harriet sets out to find and punish her brother’s murderer, only for her search to become a dangerous journey into the menacing underworld of a small Mississippi town.
