From Drappier, Grande Sendrée Champagne Brut 2012 is a vintage cuvée named after a parcel of land in Urville, once covered by cinders following the fire that ravaged the village in 1836. A spelling error in a later version of the land register fixed the name as “Sendrée” with an “s”, and it remains designated that way today.

In keeping with its heritage, this cuvée is presented in a reproduction of an 18th-century bottle found in the Urville cellars. Grande Sendrée also undergoes remuage entirely by hand, reflecting a traditional approach to its production.
