This two-book collection brings together Hunters of Dune and Sandworms of Dune. The set follows a group travelling aboard a no-ship as they flee the Honored Matres, described as dark counterparts of the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood, while exploring the boundaries of the universe.

Alongside Duncan Idaho, Bashar Miles Teg, Sheeana and other refugees, long-stored cells are used to resurrect figures from the past, including Paul Muad’Dib, in preparation for a final confrontation with a mysterious outside Enemy. Deep within their ship, they also carry the last surviving sandworms from devastated Arrakis as they search the universe for a new Dune.

Synopses

Hunters of Dune

Fleeing the Honored Matres, Duncan Idaho, Bashar Miles Teg, Sheeana and a group of refugees travel aboard a no-ship and push towards the edges of the universe. Using long-stored cells, they resurrect heroes and villains from the past, including Paul Muad’Dib, as they prepare for a final confrontation with a mysterious outside Enemy.

In the hold of their giant ship, they carry the last surviving sandworms from devastated Arrakis while searching the universe for a new Dune.

Sandworms of Dune

As the no-ship Ithaca continues its flight through space, the heroes from Hunters of Dune finally encounter the Enemy that followed the Honored Matres back to their universe. The thinking machines defeated in Serena Butler’s jihad were not destroyed, but driven into exile, and now return tens of thousands of years later.

With resurrected heroes aboard the Ithaca, the question becomes whether they can save the race from annihilation.
