FREIHOF 1885 Williams Apricot Schnapps (500ml - 35%)

From the fifth-generation Freihof family distillery in Lustenau, Vorarlberg, Freihof 1885 Williams Apricot Schnaps is an Austrian fruit spirit with a smooth, fruit-led style. Bottled at 35% ABV, it is made from natural raw materials with a high distillate content and no artificial flavours, colourings or added sugar.

The character centres on marille, with a gently jammy profile that suits slow sipping after dinner. Its bright fruit notes also lend themselves well to simple mixed serves, while the 1885 range reflects the distillery’s heritage in alpine fruit distilling traditions dating back to 1885. This expression received a gold medal at the World Spirits Award 2015.

Tasting notes

Nose

Ripe apricot and baked fruit with bitter almond, roasted nuts, cocoa, vanilla, honey and a hint of eucalyptus

Palate

Smooth and gently jammy with apricot compote, plum, dark chocolate and marzipan, followed by warming cinnamon and fresh mint

Finish

Long and fruit-forward

Serving suggestion

Serve well chilled in a small tulip glass. It also works well in spritzes, sours, or topped with soda water.
