Goyenechea 5TA Generacion Gran Reserva Malbec 2015

From Goyenechea Winery, the 5TA Generacion Gran Reserva Malbec 2015 is a super-premium red wine created to honour five generations of family winemaking in Mendoza. Founded in 1868 by brothers Santiago and Narciso Goyenechea, the winery’s story began with wine and spirits stores in Buenos Aires before an estate and winery were established in Villa Atuel, south of Mendoza Province.

Matured for one year in French oak barrique, this Malbec is then kept for a further two years in the cellar after bottling before release. In the glass, it shows a deep red colour with purple hues, while the aromatic profile is described as complex and persistent. Fruit and spice notes typical of the variety are joined by smoky, vanilla and coffee nuances attributed to the French oak.
