Janneau XO Grand Armagnac 70cl

From Janneau, the XO Grand Armagnac is a flagship Armagnac blend with a heritage rooted in one of France’s oldest spirit traditions. Armagnac has been produced for 700 years and is one of three French Appellation Contrôlée brandies, alongside Cognac and Calvados.

Every drop of this prized eau-de-vie is allowed to mellow in French Limousin oak casks for at least 13 years, with some of the blend maturing for up to 25 years. Janneau has produced Armagnac since 1851 and holds the largest stock of old Armagnac in the world, including 10% of stocks over 10 years old. Recognised in international spirit competitions, Janneau is described as “the world’s most awarded Armagnac”, with this XO blend alone receiving 6 gold and 6 silver medals.

Armagnac is also notable for being one of the only appellations to release brandies by vintage; Janneau matures its vintages for a minimum of 18 years before bottling to allow the spirit to soften and develop in complexity.
