My Story 4 Books Collection Set gathers four historical stories set during periods of upheaval and conflict, moving between Russia in 1914, France in 1939, England in the 1580s and Britain during the Second World War. Each book follows a young protagonist whose life is shaped by events beyond their control.

Across the collection, Grand Duchess Anastasia faces a world transformed by war and revolution, while Sophie becomes involved with the Resistance in Northern France. In Elizabethan England, Kitty finds danger closing in as threats surround Queen Elizabeth. The set also follows Princess Elizabeth, later Queen Elizabeth II, from a royal visit to Dartmouth Naval College through her decision to join the Women’s Auxiliary Territorial Service.

Synopses

Anastasia

In 1914, Grand Duchess Anastasia, the youngest daughter of the Tsar, lives in Russia’s palaces as the First World War and the Bolshevik revolution approach. When the royal family is arrested and exiled to Siberia, everything she knows is swept away. The story spans the last four years of her life.

Sophie's Secret War

In 1939, as the Second World War begins, Sophie becomes a messenger for a Resistance group in Northern France. As German invaders overwhelm British forces on the French coast, she is drawn into a dangerous plan to save a young Scottish soldier.

To Kill a Queen

In the 1580s, enemies plot to kill Queen Elizabeth and place Mary Queen of Scots on the throne. While Kitty’s father works on secret projects for Elizabeth, her brother mixes with suspicious characters. As Mary’s supporters draw closer, Kitty fears they could all be thrown into the Tower.

Wartime Princess

In 1939, during a royal tour of Dartmouth Naval College, Princess Elizabeth meets Prince Philip of Greece and they begin a correspondence as war spreads across Europe. With Philip sent to serve in the Navy, Elizabeth persuades her father, the King, to let her enlist in the Women’s Auxiliary Territorial Service. Driving trucks and fixing cars, she wonders if she will see her prince again.
