From Paper High, the Book of Spells Leather Journal is a distinctive, hand-bound journal designed for everyday writing, sketching and creative keepsakes. Crafted using a blend of contemporary and traditional methods, it is made to travel well and develop character over time, with natural creases, bumps and marks that make each piece unique.

The leather cover is made from a by-product of the meat industry in India, tanned using only natural dyes and protected with natural oils to help it soften and age beautifully. Embossed detailing is created with small handmade tools, and the patterned border may vary from the one pictured. Inside, you’ll find unlined pages of handmade khadda paper (also known as kaddi or khaddi), produced from recycled, unbleached cotton salvaged from the Indian garment industry, ensuring the paper is acid-free. Lightly textured and luxuriously thick, it suits ball-point pens, gel pens and watercolours; fountain pens are not recommended. If you prefer less of a distressed finish, a more suitable version can be selected upon request.
