Purato Nero d'Avola 2023

From Purato, the Nero d’Avola 2023 is a Sicilian red wine made with a focus on expressing what the producer describes as complete purity of fruit, with nothing added and nothing taken away. The grapes are grown on the hills of the Trapani area using the traditional Spalliera system, then harvested in early October before being destemmed and gently pressed.

Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures not exceeding 28C, with frequent pumping over in the early stages to support colour extraction and soft tannins. After fermentation, the wine is racked off and malolactic fermentation takes place. Purato also highlights an environmental commitment, using ecofriendly products for its packaging.
