Peter May Lewis Trilogy Collection 3 Books Set gathers three novels set on Scotland’s Isle of Lewis, each centred on Detective Inspector Fin Macleod. Across the collection, Fin is drawn into investigations that pull him back towards island life, where close-knit communities and long-held secrets shape what he uncovers.

Published by Quercus, the box set includes The Lewis Man, The Black House and The Chessmen. The stories range from a body recovered from a peat bog, to a brutal killing, and a series of illegal game-hunting incidents. In each case, Fin finds his professional responsibilities colliding with personal history, as the past refuses to stay buried.

Synopses

The Lewis Man

A corpse is discovered in a Lewis peat bog, and the only clue is a DNA sibling match to a local farmer. The man identified, Tormod Macdonald, is elderly and living with dementia, yet he has always maintained he is an only child. When his family approach Fin Macleod for help, Fin is compelled to find out what the evidence is pointing towards.

The Black House

A brutal killing on the Isle of Lewis brings Detective Inspector Fin Macleod from Edinburgh to investigate. For the Lewis-born detective, the case becomes a return home and a confrontation with his past. As he questions the close-knit community, secrets begin to surface and the enquiry becomes increasingly dangerous.

The Chessmen

Fin Macleod, now head of security on a privately owned Lewis estate, is asked to look into illegal game-hunting on the island. The work reconnects him with Whistler Macaskill, a local poacher linked to Fin’s teenage years and a long-buried secret. When events turn violent, Fin realises that uncovering the truth may have lasting consequences.
