Across the series, Susan finds herself drawn back into manuscripts and mysteries that refuse to stay on the page. From working with bestselling crime writer Alan Conway, to returning to England to edit a new continuation novel, the stories place Susan at the centre of investigations where hidden narratives and dangerous consequences sit alongside the world of publishing.

Synopses

Marble Hall Murders

Susan Ryeland has edited two novels featuring Atticus Pünd and, on both occasions, has come close to being killed. Back in England, she is persuaded to work on a third. The new continuation novel is written by Eliot Crace, the grandson of Miriam Crace, described as the biggest-selling children’s author in the world until her death twenty years ago.

Magpie Murders

Editor Susan Ryland has worked for years with bestselling crime writer Alan Conway, whose readers follow Atticus Pünd solving crimes in English villages in the 1950s. Conway’s latest manuscript centres on a murder at Pye Hall, with dead bodies and multiple suspects. Within its pages, another story is said to be hidden.

Moonflower Murders

Retired publisher Susan Ryeland runs a small hotel on a Greek island with her long-term boyfriend. Life there is not as idyllic as expected, and the pressures of keeping everything working leave her exhausted. As she begins to miss her literary life in London, she is reminded of how her publishing career once drew her into a lethal literary murder plot.
