Developed to meet the demands of the latter half of WWII, the Mitsubishi A6M Zero Model 52 refined the earlier Model 22 with shorter, rounded wingtips and individual exhaust pipes, and it went on to see action from the closing stages of the Solomons campaign through to the final battles over the Marianas, Iwo Jima, Okinawa and Japan. This Tamiya Mitsubishi A6M5/5a Zero Fighter Zeke kit captures the aircraft in 1/48 scale as an assembly plastic model.
With a length of 190mm and width of 229mm, the model reproduces the Zero’s elongated nose-to-tail proportions and engine cowling based on complete measurement of the actual aircraft. A highly detailed cockpit and main landing gear well are included, along with options for flaps up or down and cowl flaps open or closed. The A6M5a variant can be built with its belt-type cannon ammunition system, with detailed differences from the A6M5 such as wing panels, spinner and wooden drop tank. Three marking options and five pilot figures are supplied.
Please note: Colours shown are as accurate as possible, though may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.
