Synopsis

Pradyumna Kumar, known as PK, is born into a poor, untouchable family in a small village in eastern India. As a child, he keeps a palm leaf carrying an astrologer’s prophecy: that he will marry a girl from outside the village and even outside the country, described as musical, an owner of a jungle, and born under the sign of the ox.

The account follows how this prediction comes to pass, after a journey that begins in the jungles of eastern India and ends in the forests of Sweden. PK travels with only a handful of paintbrushes and a second-hand bicycle, in a narrative described as life-affirming and widely shared around the world.
