Synopses

Alice

In the Old City, a hospital holds a woman who cannot remember why she is in such a terrible place. She recalls only fragments: a tea party long ago, long ears, and blood.

Red Queen

The land beyond the Old City was meant to be green, lush and hopeful, somewhere Alice could finally rest. Instead, the fields are ash and hope is absent, and peace remains out of reach.

Looking Glass

This volume collects four dark novellas set in Christina Henry’s Alice universe. “Lovely Creature” follows a butterfly kept secret in a jar, once called the Jabberwock, while “Girl in Amber” finds Alice and Hatcher searching for a place to rest.

“When I First Came to Town” looks back to Hatcher as a boy called Nicholas in the Old City, and “The Mercy Seat” follows Alice and Hatcher as they try to avoid a place in the mountains where people hate and fear magic, even as it lies directly in their path.
