Designed for rigging and lifting assemblies, these DIN1142 wire rope grips provide a practical way to form loops in wire rope assemblies or create a temporary join when required. From a mild steel construction with a zinc coating for corrosion resistance, they are suited to use on board boats in rigging set-ups, as well as similar applications on land. This set includes 4 grips, each made to suit 19mm wire rope.

For safe, reliable performance, installation should be carried out by a qualified person and torque settings checked as part of ongoing service.

Safety information

• For lifting-purpose assemblies only; ensure installation is carried out by a qualified person
• Before fitting, grease the threads on the nuts and bolts
• Keep spacing between grips at least 6 times the diameter of the rope
• Orientate correctly: place the U-bolt on the unloaded end of the rope
• Tighten each nut evenly and in turn to achieve the recommended torque settings
• Leave unused for 24 hours, then re-check torque settings and re-tighten if necessary
• After the first application of load, re-check torque settings and re-tighten if necessary
• During service, periodically check torque settings
