Designed for secure wire rope assemblies, these DIN1142 wire rope grips from Rackhams are zinc plated and supplied in a practical pack of 4. Suitable for 6mm wire rope, they are intended for creating loops in a rope assembly or making a temporary join, whether used on board boats in a rigging set-up or for similar applications on land. Manufactured from mild steel with a zinc coating for corrosion resistance, they are also used for assemblies designed for lifting purposes.

For safe, reliable results, installation should be carried out by a qualified person, with careful attention to correct orientation and tightening.

Safety information

• For lifting assemblies, ensure installation is completed by a qualified person
• Before fitting, grease the threads on the nuts and bolts
• Keep spacing between grips at least 6 times the diameter of the rope
• Orientate correctly: place the U-bolt on the unloaded end of the rope
• Tighten each nut evenly and in turn to achieve the recommended torque settings
• Leave unused for 24 hours, then re-check torque settings and re-tighten if required
• After the first application of load, re-check torque settings and re-tighten if required
• During service, periodically check torque settings
