Airfix Supermarine Spitfire F Mk.XVIII (1:48 Scale)

Developed from the Rolls-Royce Griffon-powered Mk. XIV, the Supermarine Spitfire F Mk.XVIII represents a later refinement of this iconic fighter, created as part of the push for a “Super Spitfire”. Airfix’s 1:48 scale model kit captures the Mk.XVIII variant, which introduced cockpit improvements, increased fuel capacity and strengthened wings designed to support additional stores alongside its cannon and machine gun armament.

Although it arrived too late for service in the Second World War, the Mk.XVIII saw operational use during Operation Firedog and in actions against Communist guerrillas in the Malayan Emergency. With 118 parts and a skill level of 3, this is a rewarding build for modellers who enjoy historically grounded aircraft projects.
