Synopses

Never Somewhere Else

Three young women are found strangled and mutilated in a Glasgow park, placing DCI Lorimer under intense pressure to identify the killer. With the investigation stalling, he turns to Dr Solomon Brightman, a psychologist and criminal profiler, and the pair begin a tense working partnership.

When Shadows Fall

The shooting of an old friend and former colleague leaves Detective Superintendent William Lorimer reeling. Further reports soon follow, with two more deaths linked by a troubling detail: both victims are ex-policemen.

A Small Weeping

A murdered prostitute is discovered in a Glasgow train station, her body arranged in a way that confounds DCI Lorimer. When another killing follows, the case sharpens into a race against time to stop a new serial murderer.

Questions for a Dead Man

When prominent MSP Robert Truesdale disappears, DSI William Lorimer begins an urgent investigation. Truesdale has been leading a controversial campaign to legalise drugs in Scotland, and as days pass without answers, the likelihood of finding him alive diminishes.
