Celestron EclipSmart Solar Filter - 8 inch SCT and EdgeHD

Safe solar viewing starts with a properly matched filter, and this Celestron EclipSmart Solar Filter is made for Celestron 8-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain and 8-inch EdgeHD telescopes. It converts a compatible nighttime telescope for solar observation using Solar Safe filter technology, with a scratch-resistant polymer filter produced by American Paper Optics and a secure fit based on the telescope’s lens cap.

The filter uses ISO-compliant solar safe film that blocks harmful IR and UV light and filters 99. 999% of visible light. Two 1-inch x 4-inch Velcro safety straps and four 1-inch x 1-inch self-adhesive Velcro tabs help keep the filter firmly in place. It is independently tested by SAI Global Assurance Services and conforms to ISO 12312-2, EN 1836:2005 + A1:2007 (E) for an E15 filter for the direct observation of the sun, and AS/NZS 1338. 1:2012. Compatible models include Celestron 8-inch SCT and 8-inch EdgeHD telescopes including NexStar, CPC, Advanced VX, CGEM, CGEM II and CGX variants.
