For a longer focal length option in a 1. 25-inch format, the Celestron Omni 40mm eyepiece brings a classic 4-element symmetrical Plossl design with careful attention to contrast and viewing comfort. Its 40mm focal length and 43 angular field of view make it a useful addition to a telescope setup where a wider field is preferred, while the 31mm eye relief gives a more accommodating viewing position.

Multi-layer coating is applied to each lens surface to support light transmission and contrast, and blackened lens edges help reduce internal reflections. A two-step anodising process on the top eyepiece barrel further limits unwanted reflections. Fold-down rubber eye cups and a rubberised grip complete the design with practical handling in mind.
