Chance of a Lifetime Series is a three-book collection by Kate Clayborn, bringing together Beginner’s Luck, Luck of the Draw and Best of Luck. Each story centres on a character whose direction changes after a lottery win, prompting new plans and fresh questions about work, home and what comes next.

Across the set, the collection moves from a university scientist adjusting to a sudden windfall and the prospect of a first home, to a corporate attorney attempting to make amends, and a student determined to prove her independence. Familiar places and family ties run alongside career choices and unexpected connections, with distinct situations and relationships in each book.

Synopses

Beginner’s Luck

Kit Averin is a scientist with a quiet university job, and a sudden windfall that changes little beyond her plan to buy a fixer-upper as her first and only real home. As she concentrates on the purchase, Ben Tucker, a corporate recruiter, arrives at her lab.

Ben expects to spend the summer persuading Kit to take a high-paying role at his firm. Time in his hometown also means time with his dad, but the longer he stays, the more he questions his own future and where he belongs.

Luck of the Draw

A lottery win allows Zoe Ferris to leave her job as a corporate attorney, but it does not lessen her guilt over how her firm treated the O’Leary family in a wrongful death case. Determined to put things right, she seeks out Aiden O’Leary, who does not want her apology, though he does want something else from her.

Best of Luck

Greer Hawthorne is close to proving her independence to her overprotective family when a careless mistake threatens her plan to graduate. Someone in town may be able to help.

Alex Averin plans to attend his sister’s wedding and return straight to his job as a photojournalist. When Greer needs support with a photography project, he finds he cannot refuse.
