Chateau Purcari Purcari Nocturne Rara Neagra Moldovan Red Wine

Founded in 1827, Chateau Purcari is one of Moldova’s most established producers. Purcari Nocturne Rara Neagra is a dry red wine from the Republic of Moldova, made exclusively from the rare Moldovan grape Rara Neagra and bottled at 13% ABV.

Drawn from the Nocturne range, this wine is made from grapes harvested at night to preserve quality and structure. Traditional production is followed by six months’ ageing in French oak barrique, giving shape to its dark fruit character and finely grained tannins. It suits richly flavoured dishes, from roasted lamb with herbs and filet mignon to mushroom risotto, Peking duck, rillette and charcuterie.

Tasting notes

Nose

Deep fruity aromas with blackberry, blackcurrant and plum, alongside tobacco, coffee and oak.

Palate

Dry and delicate, with finely grained tannins and notes of black fruit, leather, oak and black pepper.

Serving suggestion

Serve at 18–20°C. Pair with filet mignon, roasted lamb with herbs, mushroom risotto, Peking duck, rillette or charcuterie.
