Designed for secure, physically controlled storage, the Kingston IronKey Vault Privacy 50 USB Flash Drive delivers hardware-encrypted protection in a premium USB Type-A format. This 512GB model (IKVP50/512GB) uses FIPS 197 certified AES 256-bit hardware encryption in XTS mode, with digitally-signed firmware and built-in defences against brute force and BadUSB attacks.

Pen tested for enterprise-grade security, it supports Admin, User and One-Time Recovery multi-password options in both Complex and Passphrase modes. Complex passwords can be set from six to sixteen characters using three of the four character sets, while Passphrase mode allows a 10-to 64-character numeric PIN, phrase, series of phrases, or lyrics. Dual read-only/write-protect configurations help reduce risk on untrusted machines, and a built-in virtual keyboard helps protect passwords from keyloggers and screenloggers.

Security and access control

Supports Complex and Passphrase password modes, including an optional “eye” control to reveal the entered password to help reduce login errors. After ten consecutive incorrect entries, brute force protection locks out user or one-time recovery credentials; ten consecutive incorrect admin password entries crypto-erase the drive. A built-in virtual keyboard helps protect password entry from keyloggers and screenloggers.

Write protection

User or Admin can set a session-based read-only mode, and Admin can enforce read-only mode for the user to help guard against infection on untrusted computers.
