Kingston IronKey Vault Privacy 50 Type-C XTS AES Encrypted USB Flash Drive 512GB

Designed for controlled, offline data protection, the Kingston IronKey Vault Privacy 50 Type-C XTS AES Encrypted USB Flash Drive 512GB (IKVP50C/512GB) combines USB Type-C convenience with hardware-encrypted storage. FIPS 197 certified XTS-AES 256-bit encryption is supported by digitally-signed firmware and built-in defences against brute force and BadUSB attacks, with pen testing carried out to validate enterprise-grade security.

Flexible access management is built in, with Admin, User and One-Time Recovery multi-password options available in Complex and Passphrase modes. Read-only (write-protect) settings can be configured by Admin and User to help reduce risk on untrusted computers, while a virtual keyboard and an optional password “eye” display are provided to support safer, more accurate password entry. A Customisation Programme is available for organisations, including product ID (PID) options for integration with common endpoint management software.

Components

Security and access control

Complex mode supports passwords of six to sixteen characters using three of the four character sets. Passphrase mode accepts a 10 to 64-character numeric PIN, phrase, series of phrases, or lyrics. After ten consecutive incorrect password attempts, brute force protection locks out User or One-Time Recovery credentials; ten consecutive incorrect Admin password attempts crypto-erase the drive. Admin can reset the User password and activate both the User and One-Time Recovery password to restore access.

Write protection

Read-only mode can be set as a session-based option by Admin or User, or applied by Admin as a compulsory read-only mode for the User.
