From Li Veli, Susumaniello 2022 is a red wine made from the rare Susumaniello grape variety found only in Salento, Puglia. Named “little donkey” in the local dialect, Susumaniello refers to the large bunches of grapes that hang from the vines like the heavy loads carried by donkeys.

In the glass, it shows plenty of character, with black and red berry sensations supported by spicy notes, alongside hints of liquorice and cocoa and notes of eucalyptus. Full-bodied without feeling heavy, it’s described as extremely satisfying and easy to drink, making it a confident choice for relaxed evenings or when you want a more distinctive bottle to share.
