From Pocketful of Stones Distillers, Dr Squid Cornish Gin is a distinctive gin created as a labour of love dating back to spring 2018, designed to bring something unexpected to a home bar. Presented in a copper flask engraved with scenery, wildlife, folklore and history surrounding the distillery, it makes a considered choice for gifting as well as serving.

Squid ink is used in minimal amounts during distilling and for the gin’s colour or infusion, giving it a striking look in the glass. Vanilla is added to the base of the recipe to create a well-rounded mouthfeel and perceived sweetness, while sea buckthorn brings a tart, fresh fruit finish. Dr Squid pours black and, when mixed with tonic, turns a vivid pink. For an alternative serve, it also suits a Gin Mule, poured over crushed ice and topped with ginger beer.
