Tamiya German Tiger I Tank Late Version (1:35 Scale)

Introduced during the Second World War, the German Tiger I became known for its power and advanced design for the period. This Tamiya model kit recreates the Tiger I Late Version in 1:35 scale, reflecting the later-production changes that entered manufacture in January 1944. It suits adult constructors looking to build a detailed representation of this historic armoured vehicle.

The late Tiger I retained heavy armour plating, reaching up to 100mm in some areas, while adopting updated roadwheels that replaced rubber-rimmed wheels with steel-rimmed designs insulated from the hub by rubber rings. Turret revisions included a commander’s cupola with seven vision ports, an anti-aircraft machine gun ring, a side pivoting hatch, a loader’s hatch with periscope, a centrally relocated smoke exhaust outlet, and internally mounted “S” mine dischargers. The 88mm KwK36 (L/56) main gun remained in place, despite consideration of a switch to the KwK43 (L/71).
