Developed from the XP-47B prototype, the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt became one of the most produced fighters of the Second World War, with late-production aircraft adopting the distinctive bubble canopy that earned the nickname “Bubbletop”. This Tamiya Republic P-47D Thunderbolt “Bubbletop” plastic assembly kit recreates the late-production P-47D in 1/48 scale, capturing the aircraft’s substantial profile with careful attention to the belly and cowling.

Built for adult constructors, the kit includes a range of optional parts to vary the finished model, from flaps set up or down to alternative mirrors, gun sights and propellers. Movable display choices extend to the engine cowling flaps and intercooler air outlets, each buildable in open or closed positions. Ordnance and external stores are also included, alongside a pilot figure and decals for two marking options.
