Synopses

Under the Whispering Door

Wallace is confronted at his own sparsely attended funeral when a reaper arrives to collect him. Outraged at first, he begins to suspect she is right and that he is, in fact, dead. When Hugo, the owner of a peculiar tea shop, offers to help him cross over, Wallace reluctantly accepts the truth, even as he struggles to let go of the life he spent working and correcting those around him.

Wolfsong

Ox Matheson is twelve when his father tells him he is not worth anything and that people will never understand him, before leaving. Years later, the Bennett family moves in next door, carrying a secret that changes Ox’s life. They are shapeshifters who can turn into wolves at will, and Ox is drawn to their magic, loyalty and enduring friendships, even as he feels the distance between their world and his quiet life.

The House in the Cerulean Sea

Linus Baker lives quietly, with a tiny house, a devious cat and his record collection. At forty, he has spent years at the Department in Charge of Magical Youth, monitoring orphanages. He is then summoned by Extremely Upper Management and assigned a highly classified task: to visit an orphanage housing six dangerous children, including the Antichrist, and determine whether they could bring about the end of days.
