Viña Vik Winery Milla Cala 2018

From Viña Vik Winery, Milla Cala 2018 is a signature red blend that brings together all the varieties grown across the VIK estate. In the glass, red fruit notes from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot sit alongside the black fruit and spice character of Carmenère, with a mineral hint from Cabernet Franc and violet nuances from Syrah, creating a layered, expressive profile.

Set within the valley’s interior, the estate’s vineyards draw complexity from a rich mix of terroirs and microclimates. Planted across 12 small valleys totalling 327 hectares, each parcel has its own exposure, moderated by coastal breezes. More than 6,000 soil analyses informed the matching of rootstocks and varieties, with colluvial, alluvial, sand, clay and gravel stone soils each contributing distinctive character to the final blend. Vines in the Colchaguilla, La Feria and Boqueron plots are planted at a high density of 10,000 vines per hectare, with six bunches per vine. The vineyards are sustainably cultivated and the fruit is hand-harvested at optimum maturity.
