Viticola Sarica Niculitel Caii de la Letea Volume 1 Feteasca Neagra Red Wine

From Viticola Sarica Niculitel in Dobrogea, Caii de la Letea Volume 1 Feteasca Neagra is a dry red wine made from Feteasca Neagra and bottled at 13% ABV. Produced from grapes harvested in late September, it reflects the character of the Dobrogea terroir and brings together expressions of the variety from different years.

Careful grape selection is followed by 5 to 8 days of maceration at 16°C, then controlled alcoholic fermentation at 26–28°C for 8 to 10 days. A further warm maceration lasts 5 to 8 days, before the wine is aged for 1 year in stainless steel tanks. The result is a velvety, harmonious style suited to hearty dishes and robust sauces.

Velvety and harmonious, with forest fruits including currants and blackberries, alongside cherries, dried plums and light spice notes of cinnamon, pepper, allspice and vanilla

Serving suggestion

Serve at 16–18°C. Pairs well with grilled lamb, pork tonkatsu, Transylvanian-style sarmale, Romanian-style stuffed peppers, Genghis Khan barbecue, tacos, baked rooster or pasta with tomato sauce.
