Designed to help shape a defined outdoor area, the Arbor Garden Solutions Rectangular Pergola and Decking Kit with Balustrade V.1 combines a pergola structure with a decking/base and balustrade. Supplied with pre-cut components and step-by-step instructions, it is intended to be straightforward to set up on a flat, level surface.

The listed size reflects the total decking/base area rather than the pergola frame. The pergola is designed to span the full width and half the depth of the base, with a standard 45cm overhang on all sides. • Engineered uprights: 94x94 redwood ‘A’ quality, kiln dried 12/14%, laminated PAR, UC4, 70% PEFC certified

How to assemble

• Prepare the area by ensuring a flat, level surface
• Assemble the decking frame using joists, beams and decking planks, with the supplied spacer block for spacing
• Install the pergola by positioning the upright posts, then attaching runners and rafters using the pre-drilled holes and included fixings
• Fit the pre-assembled balustrades, aligning and securing them in place
• Tools required: electric screwdriver, drill, socket wrench, spirit level and ladder
• Posts are supplied at 2.7m and can be trimmed if needed for a free-standing structure
• Assembly requires a 10mm socket and screwdriver

Treatment & maintenance

Due to the inherent characteristics of natural timber, product colours may vary from those depicted.

• Sweep regularly to remove leaves, dirt and debris
• Every few months, wash using mild soap and water with a soft-bristle brush
• Inspect at least once a year for loose screws, nails or cracked boards; tighten fasteners and replace damaged boards as needed
• Apply a wood sealant or stain every 1-3 years; if water sprinkled on the boards absorbs quickly, apply a new coat of sealant
• In winter, clear snow with a plastic shovel and avoid harsh de-icing salts
